Linseed oil
Linseed oil, also known as flaxseed oil is a triglyceride, like other fats. Linseed oil is distinctive for its unusually large amount of α-linolenic acid. Most applications of linseed oil exploit its drying properties like the use as in paint binders, puttys or wood finishes.
Vegetable oils are renewable, biodegrable, and abundant. The double bonds in the oil itself can be functionalized easily.
