GVL is a green alternative to often used, hazardous, polar, aprotic solvents like N-ethyl-pyrrolidone, N-methyl-pyrrolidone (NMP), dimethylformamide (DMF), dimethylacetamide (DMAc), ethyl acetate, methyl acetate, methylethylketone (MEK), gamma-butyrolactone (GBL) or acetone.
